MSDH confirms 1,245 new COVID-19 cases, 51 additional deaths

The Mississippi State Department of Health is reporting 1,245 new cases of COVID-19.

Today�s report brings Mississippi�s total number of cases up to 63,444. With the confirmation of *51 additional deaths, 1,804 Mississippians have now passed away from the virus.

*MSDH Note: 19 confirmed COVID-19 related deaths occurred between July 11 and July 29, identified from death certificate reports.

Hospital data has not been updated to reflect today�s report, but the chart below shows Tuesday’s graph.

An estimated 42,391 Mississippians have recovered from COVID-19.

Tuesday, Governor Tate Reeves issued a statewide mask mandate. Under the mandate,�all Mississippians must wear a mask when in public with a few exceptions – children under 6 years old, those who cannot cover their face for medical or behavioral conditions, and those at religious worship. The order does mandate that masks must be worn inside of�businesses, schools, or�any place open to the public, or when at an outdoor public space where social distancing is not possible.
