This morning, the Mississippi State Department of Health reported 216 new cases of COVID-19.
The latest report brings the state’s total number of cases up to 308,737. With the confirmation of *12 additional deaths, 7,139 Mississippians have now passed away from the virus.
*MSDH Note: 10 deaths occurred between August 28 and April 9, identified from death certificate reports.
Overall hospitalizations saw a decrease in the latest data from the MSDH while the state’s 7-day rolling average has risen after briefly dropping below 200.
As of Monday, an estimated 297,362 Mississippians have recovered from COVID-19.
