The Mississippi State Department of Health confirmed 2,177 new cases of COVID-19 in its weekly report.
The seven-day update brings the state’s total number of recorded cases since the onset of the pandemic to 989,282. With 31 additional deaths, 13,351 Mississippians have passed away as a result of the virus. Additionally, there are currently 87 ongoing outbreaks in long-term care facilities.
