The Mississippi State Department of Health is reporting under 300 new cases of COVID-19.
Today’s report of 242 new cases brings the state’s total up to 290,874. For the second straight day, no new deaths were included in the report, keeping the number of Mississippians that have passed away from the virus at 6,553.
The number of active outbreaks in Mississippi long-term care facilities has dropped to 93.
Hospital data and estimated recovered have not yet been updated.
In addition to the MSDH’s central office in Jackson, The COVID-19 drive-through vaccination site in Washington County will be closed today. Appointments have automatically been rescheduled for the same time on Monday, March 1.
