Today’s report from the Mississippi State Department of Health includes just 276 new cases of COVID-19.
Today’s report represents the first day below 300 new cases since July 5th. The state’s total number of cases now rests at 72,412. With the confirmation of *11 additional deaths, 2,095 Mississippians have now passed away from the virus.
MSDH Note: 2 confirmed COVID-19 related deaths occurred between July 26 and July 27, identified from death certificate reports.
Sunday, the MSDH reported 381 new cases, prompting State Health Officer Dr. Thomas to post on Twitter that Mississippians are making a difference through the use of masks and social distancing practices.
