MSDH confirms 731 new COVID-19, 25 deaths

The Mississippi State Department of Health is reporting 731 new cases of COVID-19. 

The latest report brings the state’s total number of cases up to 293,542. With the confirmation of 25 additional deaths, 6,638 Mississippians have now passed away from the virus. 

MSDH Note: 13 COVID-19 related deaths occurred between December 28 and February 17, identified from death certificate reports.

Overall hospitalizations declined once again in the latest data from the MSDH. 

The number of active outbreaks in Mississippi long-term care facilities has dropped to 76. 

As vaccine legibility expands to teachers and first responders, nearly 550,000 doses have been administered so far in Mississippi. 

As of Monday, an estimated 273,437 Mississippians have recovered from COVID-19.
