On Monday, the Mississippi State Department of Health (MSDH) reported 17,525 more cases of COVID-19 in Mississippi.
The three-day total, which covers December 30-January 1, brings the state’s total number of cases to 561,262. With the confirmation of five additional deaths, 10,455 Mississippians have passed away from the virus.
On Thursday, MSDH reported the state’s largest one-day total since August 20 with 4,885 new cases. Monday’s numbers average out to around 5,841 cases per day.
Currently, 1,447,794 Mississippi residents are fully vaccinated
