To date, over 20,000 Mississippians have gotten the COVID-19 vaccine as the Department of Health continues the early stages of its distribution plan.
This according to data released by the MSDH, detailing the location of the shots as well as demographic information such as age, race and ethnicity.

Phase 1A of the distribution plan reserves the initial doses of the vaccine for healthcare workers in the state. Starting next week, the MSDH will operate 18 drive-thru vaccination sites using the already-existing testing infrastructure built out in the first months of the pandemic.
The next phase of the MSDH’s distribution plan includes residents of long-term care facilities.
