COVID-19 numbers continue to increase, according to the Mississippi State Department of Health’s most recent report confirming 1,319 new cases.
Wednesday’s report brings the state’s total number of cases to 825,440. With seven additional deaths, the number of Mississippians who have passed away as a result of the virus stands at 12,502. In addition, there are currently 139 ongoing outbreaks in long-term care facilities.
As of June 21, the total number of Mississippians who are fully vaccinated is 1,554,082. The FDA has also authorized the use of vaccines for those as young as six months.
