The Mississippi State Department of Health is reporting 199 new cases of COVID-19.
The latest report—which follows a trend of lower totals on Mondays and higher case counts over the weekend with 549 cases on Saturday & 704 cases on Sunday—brings the state’s total up to 294,994. No deaths were includes in today’s report. To date, 6,681 Mississippians have now passed away from the virus.
Overall hospitalizations have dipped to around 450 in the latest data from the MSDH.
Teachers and first responders are now eligible to receive the COVID-19 vaccine in Mississippi. So far, over 615,000 total doses have been administered across the state.
