On Friday, the Mississippi State Department of Health (MSDH) confirmed 271 new cases of COVID-19.
The latest report brings the state’s total number of cases to 792,560. With the confirmation of eight additional deaths, 12,255 Mississippians have passed away from the virus. Also according to the report, there are 47 ongoing outbreaks in long-term care facilities.
