MSDH reports 3,291 new COVID-19 cases from the weekend

COVID-19 is continuing to surge throughout the Magnolia State according to the Mississippi State Department of Health’s latest report confirming 3,291 new cases from the weekend.

Monday’s update brings the state’s total number of cases to 859,352. With five additional deaths, the total number of Mississippians who have passed as a result of the virus is now 12,573. In addition, there are currently 204 outbreaks in long-term care facilities.

Mississippi is averaging 1,551 daily cases over the last week. As of Monday, 1,559,790 (52%) of Mississippi residents were fully vaccinated.
