The Mississippi State Department of Health is reporting 572 new cases of COVID-19.
Today’s report brings Mississippi’s total number of cases up to 61,125. With the confirmation of 8 additional deaths, 1,711 Mississippians have now passed away from the virus.
Despite today’s relatively low number of new cases, the state saw it’s new one-day high last Thursday and over the weekend, Dr. Ashish K. Jha, the Director of the Harvard Global Health Institute, expressed concern that Mississippi will soon become the number one state in terms of cases per capita.
One state doing VERY badly but has received little attention is Mississippi.
MS has the 2nd highest # of new cases / capita, just behind Florida — but MS is going up while FL is slowly inching down.
But the story here is much worse.
