MSDH reports 6,592 COVID-19 cases, Dobbs shares Omicron stats

On Wednesday, the Mississippi State Department of Health (MSDH) reported 6,592 more cases of COVID-19 in Mississippi.

The latest report brings the state’s total number of cases to 572,694. With the confirmation of 11 additional deaths, 10,503 Mississippians have passed away from the virus. Also according to the report, there are currently 246 ongoing outbreaks in long-term care facilities.

State Health Officer Dr. Thomas Dobbs went to Twitter on Tuesday to share further statistics regarding the Omicron variant.
