The Mississippi State Department of Health (MSDH) has reported 609 new cases of COVID-19 from over the weekend.
The three-day total, which covers March 4-6, brings the state’s total number of cases to 791,817. With the confirmation of 20 additional deaths, 12,171 Mississippians have passed away from the virus. Also according to the report, there are 59 ongoing outbreaks in long-term care facilities.
As of Thursday, hospitalizations stood at 246 with confirmed infection. In comparison, there were 834 people hospitalized with confirmed infection on February 11.
