Postseason baseball is back in the Magnolia State as both Mississippi State and Ole Miss have been selected as regional host sites for the upcoming NCAA Baseball Tournament.

For the Bulldogs and the Rebels, the road to Omaha will begin in their respective backyards as Dudy Noble and Swayze will host four-team regionals next weekend (June 4-7). As for Southern Miss, they’ll be staying within the state’s borders as they’re headed to Oxford. During this morning’s selection show, it was announced that Mississippi State earned the 7th-seed, meaning they’re primed to host a super regional the following weekend.

Mississippi State and Samford will open the regional on Friday at 2 p.m. ahead of the matchup between  VCU and Campbell. The winner of the Starkville Regional will advance to meet the winner of the South Bend Regional hosted by Notre Dame.

Ole Miss is the 12th seed and will face SEMO in the late game on Friday night with first pitch set for 7 p.m. Southern Miss will take the field at Swayze at 2 p.m. against Florida State. The Oxford Regional is paired with Arizona.

This marks the 15th time the Bulldogs have hosted a regional and the 10th for the Rebels.
