While a Mississippian did not win the historic $1.8 billion Powerball prize during Saturday’s drawing, a handful of locals did have tickets nab prizes that will make the banker happy.

The Mississippi Lottery Corporation announced Monday afternoon that five tickets purchased inside the state won over $50,000, including two with wins of over $100,000.

“The second-largest U.S. lottery jackpot of all time, $1.787 billion, was finally hit, with winning tickets sold in Missouri and Texas,” a news release reads. “But here in Mississippi, players celebrated their own victories, with five tickets matching four out of five white balls plus the red Powerball to win $50,000 each. Two of those players added the $1 Power Play option, instantly doubling their prize to $100,000.”

Of the winning tickets in Mississippi, here’s where they were purchased:

  • Double Quick #209 in Brandon: $100,000
  • Brando’s Tobacco Store in Byram: $100,000
  • Walmart Superstore #699 in Oxford: $50,000
  • Midway Food Mart in Moss Point: $50,000
  • Circle K #2707956 in Ocean Springs: $50,000

The Powerball has since reset to $20 million with a cash value of $9.2 million but will climb with each ticket purchased. The next drawing is Monday night.

As for the Mega Millions jackpot, it now stands at an estimated $358 million with a cash value of $164.5 million. The next drawing is Tuesday night.

Monday night’s Lotto America and Mississippi Match 5 jackpots stand at $2.65 million and $160,000, respectively.
