For the second straight day, new COVID-19 cases in Mississippi are under 700.
The latest report of 656 new cases brings the state’s total up to 282,969. With the confirmation of *73 additional deaths, 6,342 Mississippians have now passed away from the virus.
*MSDH Note: 42 COVID-19 related deaths occurred between December 24, 2020 and February 4, 2021, identified from death certificate reports.
Hospital data hasn’t been updated since February 5th as overall hospitalizations dipped below 800.
To date, an estimated 253,140 Mississippians have recovered from COVID-19. Monday, the MSDH provided the latest update on the rollout of the COVID-19 vaccine with the state administering over 330,000 doses.
