The Turning Point USA event, scheduled to take place at the University of Mississippi on Wednesday, is expected to reach maximum capacity.
Vice President JD Vance and Erika Kirk, the widow of the organization’s late founder, Charlie, will take the main stage at the university’s basketball venue as part of the “This is the Turning Point” tour. According to event planners, it’s drawn widespread enthusiasm to the point that some guests are expected to be turned away at the entrance.
“Due to overwhelming demand, we anticipate turning away a significant number of General Attendee guests. We are prioritizing students in line with our mission to empower the next generation of leaders. We are grateful for your support in helping us fulfill that mission,” a release from TPUSA reads.
TPUSA organizers reiterated that students will be given priority admission as part of the nonprofit’s calling to reach young people. The organization advocates for conservative politics on high school, college, and university campuses.
“This event is currently sold out, and not all waitlist ticket holders will be admitted. Seating will be extremely limited, and the venue is expected to reach capacity with student attendees,” the release continued. “Admission is not guaranteed. As a general attendee on the waitlist, we will do our best to accommodate as many guests as possible after students have been seated. This is a first-come, first-served event, with student attendees receiving priority entry until we reach capacity inside.”

Before heading into the arena, attendees are urged to be prepared for TSA-like screening, going through magnetometers required for entry. Though one would typically be allowed to bring a clear bag into the SJB Pavilion for an Ole Miss basketball game, there will be a no-bag policy in effect on Wednesday.
Other prohibited items include aerosols, ammunition, animals, backpacks and bags, balloons, bicycles, coolers, costume masks, drones and other unmanned aircraft systems, explosives, firearms, flammable liquids, glass, thermal or metal containers, laser pointers, knives, mace, packages, range finders, recreational motorized mobility devices, selfie sticks, signs and posters, structures, toy guns, tripods, weapons of any kind, and any other items determined to be a potential safety hazard.
Doors to the “This is the Turning Point” fall tour event at Ole Miss will open at 3 p.m., and the program will begin at 5 p.m. Mornings with Richard Cross will be live from Oxford to preview the event with SuperTalk Mississippi News being on site throughout the day and during the event, providing both pre and post-coverage.
