An Oktibbeha County 13-year-old is being charged with murdering her mother.
Lydia Za’Nay Flowers is being charged as an adult as she faces multiple charges in connection to the death of Lou Ann Jones. Jones was found dead inside her home on A.W. Williams Drive in Starkville on December 5.
Upon Jones’ body being found, police immediately began looking for Flowers who had disappeared. Flowers was taken into custody on Friday and is being held on a $1.2 million bond with charges ranging from conspiracy to commit murder to first-degree murder.
Nathaniel Jamar Davis, 23, is also facing a first-degree murder charge and is said to have assisted the teen after the incident. It is unclear at this time how Davis and Flowers knew each other.
