Ole Miss got their new punter from where?
According to head coach Lane Kiffin, the team’s new punter, Charlie Pollock, was found “at a keg party or something.”
Yes, you read that right. A keg party or something.
“Yeah, I don’t know a whole lot about him,” Kiffin explained after Saturday’s scrimmage. “I think he was down at the frat house, like at a keg party or something, where they got him from. So, we have conditioning work to do with my guy. But we just say, ‘Hey, someone go find a punter around campus,’ so we found one that actually used to punt in Division I. So, you never know.”

In one of the most Lane Kiffin moves ever, the man who could possibly be the Rebels starting punter this season has been spending the offseason at keggers. That’s awesome.
Fortunately for Ole Miss, Pollock does have some collegiate experience. The 6-foot-1, 230-pounder from Marietta, Ga., originally went to play for Matt Mumme at the University of Nevada. While he didn’t get any playing time with the Wolfpack, Pollock obviously has talent as 247Sports ranked him as the No. 13 punter in the nation in 2020.
It seems as if he was just one of the numerous transfer portal casualties that weren’t able to find a scholarship opportunity on the field. But now, he has a chance with the Rebels.
Fraser Masin, the only other punter on the roster, has been unavailable during camp due to an injury. Ole Miss kicks off the 2022 season season on September 3 versus Troy.
