Former Ole Miss great Terrence Metcalf will be honored as an electee into the College Football Hall of Fame this weekend.

Metcalf is one of 18 players, along with four coaches that will make up the 2025 College Football Hall of Fame class, per the National Football Foundation. The organization, along with officials from Ole Miss, will honor the standout offensive lineman with an on-campus salute at halftime during the Rebels’ home opener against Georgia State. Metcalf, the father of former Ole Miss and now Pittsburgh Steelers wideout D.K., will lead the team down its traditional Walk of Champions on Saturday.

A consensus First Team All-American in 2001 and two-time First Team All-SEC selection, Metcalf helped lead Ole Miss to three bowl appearances (1997 Motor City, 1999 Independence, 2000 Music City Bowl) and two final national rankings (No. 22 in 1997 and No. 22 in 1999).

The Clarksdale native will become the 10th Ole Miss player inducted into the Hall of Fame in December, joining Bruiser Kinard, Parker Hall, Charlie Conerly, Barney Poole, Charlie Flowers, Jake Gibbs, Archie Manning, Wesley Walls, and Patrick Willis. Johnny Vaught remains the only Ole Miss head coach ever inducted into the NFF Hall of Fame

“Playing at 6-foot-4 and 315 pounds, Terrence Metcalf used a unique blend of size, technique, and agility to become one of the most formidable linemen in Ole Miss history,” NFF President & CEO Steve Hatchell said. “We are thrilled to honor him at Vaught-Hemingway Stadium as a member of the 2025 NFF College Football Hall of Fame Class.”

Saturday’s matchup between Ole Miss and Georgia State will kick off at 6:45 p.m. and will be aired on the SEC Network, along with participating SuperTalk Mississippi stations.
