Ole Miss women’s golf coach Kory Henkes is being considered for the 2024-25 Division I Jackie Steinmann WGCA National Coach of the Year award.

Recognized as the highest coaching honor in women’s collegiate golf, the annual award is presented to the top coach in Division I, II, III, and NAIA women’s golf.

This marks the fourth time in five years that Henkes has been nominated, including 2020-21 when she was the award’s recipient after guiding Ole Miss women’s golf to its first-ever national title.

Henkes is in her 10th season in Oxford and has led the Rebels to three consecutive NCAA Championship appearances. Ole Miss is currently headed into Carlsbad, California, with momentum after finishing No. 2 in the Charlottesville Regional.

During the 2024-25 regular season, Henkes led the Rebels to another successful showing with two first-place landmarks and eight top-five team finishes. The first team win of the year came at the Mary Fossum Invitational in Lansing, Michigan. Ole Miss shot a tournament record 847 (-17) at the Forest Akers West Golf Course, finishing a whopping 15 strokes ahead of the penultimate club.

Henkes and the Rebels didn’t take long to add a second win to this year’s résumé, taking home top honors at the Illini Women’s Invitational, just two weeks after the win at Mary Fossum. Ole Miss tallied the second-lowest team 54-hole score in program history at the Medinah Country Club, firing a three-day total of 834 (-30).

The Rebels will vie for a second national championship out west, with the NCAA Championships set to run from May 16-21. Mississippi State’s women’s golf team will also be competing. The National Coach of the Year award will be announced after a titleholder is crowned.
