Two out-of-state Ole Miss students have been arrested for vandalizing public property in Oxford.

After investigation, 19-year-old Abigail Fuqua of Virginia Beach and 18-year-old Madison Brown of North Carolina were taken into custody for damaging a fountain structure off of the town’s historic square next to City Hall.

The Oxford Police Department reports that the two individuals are believed to be part of a larger group.

OPD took a report of property damage that occurred in the pocket park. The damage to repair and replace the landmark was approximately $4,700, which included both the fountain structure and plumbing.

Fuqua and Brown are charged with felony malicious mischief. Each was given a $5,000 bond.
