State Senator Chris McDaniel says he thinks the new state flag was pushed down our throats by a legislature that didn’t trust the people to decide. McDaniel took to facebook earlier this week, saying he didn’t have a problem with changing the flag, but did have a problem with the process. He went on to say that it’s impossible to move forward together when Mississippians weren’t allowed to choose a flag from multiple options, and he believes if the people had been allowed to decide, there wouldn’t have been lingering resentment.
