The owner of Jackson’s historic Mayflower Café is looking to sell after serving the area for almost nine decades.
According to the owner, 74-year-old Jerry Kountouris, the restaurant has been operated by his family for 87 years and is said to be the oldest in the capital city.
Since its opening in 1935, the restaurant has starred in films including The Help and Ghosts of Mississippi.
Now, as there are no remaining family members to pass the restaurant down to, Kountouris says he is hoping to sell the restaurant to a third party.
Kountouris is asking any interested in purchasing the landmark restaurant to call (601)355-4122.
