Two people from the state of Texas were arrested on human trafficking charges after their alleged victim called police from a Mississippi hotel Sunday afternoon.

According to the Columbus Police Department, the unidentified female victim called 911 and reported to authorities that she had been taken hostage by two people. She accused them of kidnapping her and then bringing her to Mississippi from Indiana.

An officer found the caller hiding in a hotel room bathroom. She accused Naphtali Ratshitanga, 29, and Essence Holloway, 24, both of Texas, of holding her captive and transporting her across state lines. The victim was able to call police after the suspects temporarily left the hotel room.

Nearly three days later, on Wednesday morning, a patrolling police officer spotted the suspects’ vehicle leading to their arrest by the Lowndes County Sheriff’s Office.
