As the 2024 college football season inches closer, Ole Miss players are continuing to be highlighted ahead of what is expected to be a historic campaign for the Rebels.
Featured on The Sporting News preseason All-American team are Ole Miss wide receiver Tre Harris and defensive tackle Walter Nolen. Both players were second-team additions.

Harris, a Louisiana Tech transfer, made instant waves in Oxford last year, logging a program-best four touchdowns in his Rebel debut versus Mercer. The standout pass catcher went on to log eight total scores and 985 yards in Ole Miss’ winningest season, earning him high praise from head coach Lane Kiffin.
“It may sound strange, but if we were to vote on most improved players right now from last season, I would put Tre Harris in that group, which is saying a lot,” Kiffin told the media on Monday. “He’s just really had a great mindset all offseason … He has really pushed himself out there.”
Arguably the most coveted player in the portal before finding a home in Oxford, Nolen has been touted as a force to be reckoned with ahead of his in-game debut at Ole Miss. During his sophomore campaign at Texas A&M, Nolen tallied 37 tackles and four sacks before jumping ship to play under Ole Miss defensive coordinator Pete Golding.
A consensus five-star prospect at the high school ranks and a top player nationally, Nolen is believed to be a major piece of the puzzle to turn Ole Miss’ defensive line from a serviceable unit to one Kiffin has recently lauded as “elite.”
Neither Mississippi State nor Southern Miss had any players featured in the list. The Magnolia State’s Division I FBS programs will kick off the regular season on Saturday, August 31.
