Pascagoula city councilman John Walker passes away

The city of Pascagoula announced Wednesday that Councilman John F. “Johnny” Walker died recently. 

Councilman Walker had served on the Pascagoula City Council since 2021 and was also a local business owner. The cause of death has not been released at this time.

“Johnny’s impact extended beyond his role as a public servant – he was a dedicated leader and devoted private citizen whose commitment to Pascagoula was unwavering. His leadership and service will be greatly missed,” a statement from the city reads. 

“The City extends its heartfelt condolences to his wife, Maria; his children, Kelsey, Peyton, and Jase; his grandchildren, Nathan, Taylor, Blake, and Blythe; and all of his friends, family, and constituents.” 

Funeral services for Walker are to be held on Thursday at O’Bryant-O’Keefe Funeral Home in Pascagoula, with visitation beginning at 4:00 p.m. and a memorial service at 6:00 p.m.
