Officials at Pearl River Community College are speaking out after an employee was recently arrested on charges related to the exploitation of children.

Through a statement on social media, PRCC noted that the Pearl River County Sheriff’s Department notified it on April 18 that Megan Boles was being investigated. Boles, who was arrested this week and subsequently fired, served as director of the Pearl River Community College Child Development Lab School.

“It is with deep concern and profound shock and disappointment that we address the recent arrest of Ms. Megan Boles, a former employee of Pearl River Community College,” a portion of the statement reads. “The alleged actions of Ms. Boles are not reflective of the values and standards upheld by Pearl River Community College. We at Pearl River Community College condemn all behavior that jeopardizes the safety and welfare of children, and we are committed to taking swift and decisive action to address this matter.”

The community college added that law enforcement, up to this point, has said no alleged wrongdoing took place on campus.

Boles was previously on administrative leave due to the investigation. No other details as to what the suspected crimes entailed have been released by authorities.
