Following a three week investigation, Pike County Sheriff’s Office authorities, the Mississippi Highway Patrol Special Operations Group, and Probation/Parole Agents with the Mississippi Department of Corrections, conducted a shakedown search of Cell Block A, Cell Block C, the kitchen, and the laundry room in the Pike County Jail.
During the shakedown, four cell phones, multiple phone chargers, several shanks, multiple items that could be used as weapons, and other contraband were found.
The investigation is ongoing.
