A portion of Mississippi State University’s campus has been evacuated following a bomb threat near Barnes & Noble and Cullis Wade Depot.
According to MSU Director of Public Affairs Sid Salter, Itawamba Community College and William Carey University have recently received similar threats that were false alarms. Nevertheless, the school’s police department is working with canines to make sure the buildings mentioned in the threat are clear.
MSU is responding to a bomb threat. Other universities have recently received similar threats that were false alarms, but we are evacuating and searching specific buildings mentioned in the threat out of an abundance of caution. Canines being used with MSUPD. We will update ASAP.
