Prentiss County man faces capital murder charge for killing victim in home

A Mississippi man is facing serious charges for allegedly killing a person in a Prentiss County home.

The Prentiss County Sheriff’s Department reports that 35-year-old Louis Iulai Poutona has been taken into custody following a call of a shooting that had taken place at a home on Highway 4 East near Hobo Station.

Upon arrival, deputies discovered a deceased victim’s body that was lying in the yard of the residence. Putona is believed to be the killer.

As a result, Puotona has been charged with capital murder. His bond has been set at $2 million.

All evidence will be presented to a grand jury. Additional charges may be forthcoming.
