A Georgia man has been arrested after more than 70 pounds of methamphetamine was discovered during a traffic stop along I-20 in Rankin County.

According to Rankin County Sheriff Bryan Bailey, a member of the Rankin County Criminal Interdiction Unit pulled over a vehicle for a traffic violation on the interstate on Wednesday.

The deputy developed probable cause that the driver was potentially involved in drug trafficking, so he called in a K-9 unit.

Police K-9 Voodoo searched the vehicle and gave a positive alert, assisting deputies in discovering roughly 74 pounds of meth in the cargo area of the vehicle.

51-year-old Pedro Sosa of Acworth, Ga. has been charged with aggravated trafficking of methamphetamine and is now in custody at the Rankin County jail.
