Mississippi continues to lead the country in COVID-19 positivity rate with Thursday’s numbers just coming in.
The Mississippi State Department of Health (MSDH) reported 1,775 new cases of COVID-19 with 48 additional deaths, bringing the total numbers to 57,579 cases and 1,611 deaths.
1,775 shatters the previous single-day high of 1,635 which came on July 21st.
The number of hospitalizations also continues to rise, which is not good for a state struggling to open up ICU beds.
As the outbreak strengthens, remember to do your part and take the precautionary actions necessary to keep not only you but others safe.
