Remaining Jackson youth detention center escapees captured by Capitol Police

The two remaining juveniles who escaped the Henley-Young-Patton Youth Detention Center in Jackson have been captured.

Hinds County Sheriff Tyree Jones released that both 17-year-old Tayshom Holmes and 15-year-old Jashon Jones were taken into custody by Capitol Police on Thursday afternoon.

The third escapee, 16-year-old Robert Earl Smith, was detained in Yazoo City on Monday, July 3. Smith is currently facing a first-degree murder charge in connection with the January death of William Doug Wood.

Now, all three teens are facing additional charges after injuring another detainee and a guard in the process of escaping the detention facility.
