Rebel and Bulldog fans will reportedly have to wait one day longer than expected for the return of college baseball.
While Globe Life Field in Arlington, TX—the site of the State Farm College Baseball Showdown—has a retractable roof, the winter weather’s impact on travel will push the showcase back to a Saturday start and a Monday finish, according to D1 Baseball’s Kendall Rogers.
Mississippi State was going to have trouble getting to Arlington Thursday, Ole Miss was going to have challenges sending buses ahead and not a guarantee that Texas/Arkansas could make the drive Thursday. Temps heat up on Friday. Correct choice. https://t.co/Yk6GRtaQsr

It appears that the matchups will remain the same with #7 Mississippi State set to face #9 Texas, #10 TCU and #3 Texas Tech over the 3-day span. 6th-ranked Ole Miss will open with the Horned Frogs before facing Texas Tech and finishing up against the Longhorns on Monday.
Both the Rebels and the Bulldogs are scheduled to host their respective home openers the next day.
As it stands, Southern Miss is set to open their season Friday at home against Northwestern State
