Pascagoula Redevelopment Authority board members announced an effort has begun to revitalize downtown Pascagoula.
Nine new townhouses have already been built and the plan is to build nine more and two new restaurants along the water.
The money for these projects comes from the Gulf Coast Restoration funds which include $5 million this year on top of $2 million that was appropriated to them a few years ago.
The estimated completion date is June of 2021.
