Due to the rising COVID-19 numbers, the medical expert has issued a statewide order postponing all non-urgent surgeries and procedures requiring an overnight stay.
Earlier this week, Dobbs announced that restrictions would be placed on elective procedures requiring overnight hospitalization in six Mississippi counties, but the State Health Officer has since changed his mind, deciding to extend the policy across the entirety of the state.
According to the post, elective surgeries that can be safely postponed should be pushed back beyond July 20th.
