Saints could be away from New Orleans through September

With the 2021 NFL season set to begin next week, the Saints will start the season away from home.

The team is currently displaced in Dallas in the wake of Hurricane Ida, and head coach Sean Payton told the media today that they may not return to New Orleans until the end of week four.

According to ESPN, neither the Saints practice facility nor the Superdome sustained much damage from the strom, but the continued power outages around the city present a myriad of problems.

This means that a new location will likely be announced for the Saints week one matchup with the Green Bay Packers which was set to be played at the Superdome on September 12th. NOLA.com‘s Jeff Duncan is reporting that the team could play their home games for the time being at AT&T Stadium—the home of the Dallas Cowboys. At this point, nothing has been officially decided.

The Saints are on the road for their week two and three matchups before their next scheduled home game against the Giants.
