Scott County man wanted for murder spotted robbing Subway in Woodville

A Scott County man accused of shooting, sexually assaulting, and setting an elderly woman on fire is now reported to have robbed a Subway restaurant in southwest Mississippi.

According to the Scott County Sheriff’s Office, Sammy Patrick, who was armed, went into the fast food chain on the Adams and Wilkinson county line around 2 p.m. on Monday and walked away with over $150 in cash as well as a sandwich.

The suspect left in a stolen truck that he allegedly stole somewhere along Old Highway 21 with the tag number DBW5119. Authorities have since discovered the identification of the owner of the vehicle.

Patrick is wanted by authorities for an incident that took place Saturday around 2 p.m. in the 3000 block of Old Jackson Road in Forest in which an elderly woman was abused and killed. He is considered armed and dangerous.

Upon his capture, Patrick is facing one count of capital murder among other expected charges. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Scott County Sheriff’s Office at (601) 469-1511. A $5,000 reward is being offered for information that leads to Patrick’s arrest.
