The facility director of a Senatobia daycare has been taken into custody following child assault accusations.

Amye Durham, an employee at Peek-A-Boo Playschool on Norfleet Drive, was arrested on Thursday after a complaint was filed with the Mississippi State Department of Health Bureau of Child Care Licensure Office alleging that a child was assaulted at the daycare.

According to the Senatobia Police Department, investigators determined that there were two separate incidents with two different children that involved Durham, leading officials to issue two warrants for her arrest.

Officers arrested Durham at the daycare without incident and booked her on two counts of simple assault at the Tate County Jail with a $1,000 bond.

This is an ongoing investigation by the Senatobia Police Department and independently by the Mississippi State Department of Health.

Officials are asking anyone with information regarding previous incidents or concerns about Peek-A-Boo Playschool to contact the Senatobia Police Department at (662) 578-1128.
