According to the National Weather Service, severe weather is possible across Mississippi starting this afternoon and lingering through tonight. There is a risk of strong tornadoes, damaging wind gusts that could get up to 70 mph, and hail up to the size of a quarter.
Northern Mississippi
It will be windy today with a chance of severe thunderstorms that could bring locally heavy rainfall in the afternoon. Highs will be near 70. Tonight will be partly cloudy and breeze with more severe thunderstorms possible. Lows will be in the mid to upper 40s.
Central Mississippi
Today will be breezy with a possibility of severe thunderstorms this afternoon. Highs will be in the lower to mid-70s. Tonight will be partly cloudy, with severe thunderstorms possible and lows near 50.
Southern Mississippi
It will be breezy with a chance of severe thunderstorms in the afternoon and highs in the mid-70s. Tonight will be mostly cloudy with the possibility of more severe thunderstorms. Lows will be in the lower to mid-50s.
