Severe storms are likely this afternoon and evening with widespread damaging winds of up to 80 mph. The National Weather Service in Jackson says a few tornadoes are possible, and a strong tornado can’t be ruled out. Most of Mississippi, including the coast, is under a Level 4 or Moderate Risk for severe weather on Wednesday.
Strong winds will be possible ahead of the severe storms. Sustained winds of 25-35mph are expected with frequent gusts up to 55mph.
