The son of a Rankin County pastor has been arrested for committing sex crimes against a minor.

21-year-old Nicholas Webb, the son of Plain Landmark Missionary Baptist Church Pastor Steven Webb, is accused of molesting a family member. He was taken into custody on August 25.

The pastor and his wife, Stephanie Webb, were also apprehended by authorities for felonious contributing to the neglect of a minor child. Each parent’s bond was set at $250,000. Both were accused of having prior knowledge of the crimes and not reporting their son to authorities.

However, a Rankin County judge dropped the charges against the parents during the preliminary hearing held on Tuesday.

Nicholas Webb is charged with two counts of sexual battery on a juvenile under 14 years old and one count of statutory rape of a juvenile under 14 years old. His bond was set at $600,000.

He will face trial by a grand jury.
