A Southaven man pleaded guilty to a child pornography charge on Tuesday.
After entering the plea, 33-year-old Neal Truitt, Jr. was sentenced to 10 years in state prison with 10 years of post-release supervision, along with being required to register as a sex offender for the rest of his life.
“My office will not tolerate such depravity, and we will fight fiercely against any form of child exploitation,” DeSoto County District Attorney Matthew Barton said. “Truitt will now have to answer to the despicable crime that he committed.”
The child pornography case was investigated by the Southaven Police Department and prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Gordon Shaw.
