After its matchup with Tennessee Tech was recently canceled, Southern Miss has added a 12th game back to its 2020 football schedule.
According to an announcement from USM Athletics, the Golden Eagles will now take on North Alabama on November 7th.
“We are excited to get back to a full schedule and a seventh home game, as we continue to push forward cautiously,” USM AD Jeremy McClain said. “Our situation is ever-changing, but we will continue to make decisions with the safety and welfare of our student-athletes, coaches, and fans in mind.”
Additionally, USM has pushed back the date of its C-USA opener against Louisiana Tech to September 19th (the original date for USM/TTU). This means that USM will now have an open date on September 12th after opening their season on September 3rd at home against South Alabama.
With the addition of the North Alabama game, USM once again has seven home games set for 2020 — the most home games in a single season for the Golden Eagles since 1920.
