The Mississippi Bureau is investigating a Pike County shooting that left an officer deceased, a suspect dead, and a policeman with injuries.
A fatal exchange of gunfire between the unidentified suspect, Summit officer Trey Floyd, and McComb officer Joey Roberts prompted the city of Summit to lock down on Thursday.
The shooting is reported to have taken place near a local Piggly Wiggly on Highway 51. While details remain slim, we have been told that Floyd was killed after the suspect opened fire. Roberts was shot in the leg, but retaliated and killed the suspect.
In response, the city of Summit has canceled court dates and plans to reschedule them at another time.
No additional information has been made available at this time. This is a developing story.
