Flowood police joined the pursuit and executed a “Tactical Vehicle Intervention (TVI) near Howard Wilson Lane, causing the SUV to roll over and come to rest on a median. Fortune was taken into custody and evaluated by medical personnel before being transported to the Rankin County Detention Center.
Authorities later updated the list of charges Fortune is currently faced with. They include misdemeanor traffic offenses such as an expired tag, failure to yield right of way, improper lane change, reckless driving, while having no proof of insurance. She is also charged with disobeying a police officer and disturbing the family peace, both misdemeanors, along with felony fleeing.
Fortune is being held without bond. The sheriff’s office expressed appreciation the Flowood Police Department for their assistance in the incident.
