Suspect arrested for Bay St. Louis hit-and-run that left woman dead

The suspect in a deadly hit-and-run in Bay St. Louis has been arrested.

After two days of officers searching for the culprit, Bryan Scott Hatchcock, Jr., of Perkinston, was taken into custody and charged with leaving the scene of an accident causing death. The 18-year-old was driving on Highway 90 when he hit 41-year-old Brandy Thames’ vehicle near the intersection of Dunbar Avenue.

While Hatchcock fled, Thames was transported to an area hospital, where she succumbed to her injuries. Police then put out a BOLO for Hatchcock and his Chevrolet Silverado truck.

Hatchcock was booked in the Hancock County jail late Monday night and was issued a $100,000 bond. His court date is scheduled for Friday, March 22.
